With the SureFlap, your cat door will only open for your cat, because you put an identifying microchip in him. Now, I thought this was kind of awful (implanting a microchip). But I talked to our resident cat expert, Steph Auteri, who I beat to posting this by about three minutes, and she had this to say:
"It has to do mainly with the fact that I feel like vomiting every time I think of the possibility that they might get lost."
I'm anti-vomit, so I'm all good with this.
