Dr. Cliff Arnall has a theory that with factors like crappy weather, consumer debt from over zealous holiday spending and failed New Year’s resolutions, the third Monday of January is the most depressing day of the year. Yep, check your calendars folks, that makes today a downright downer. TIME magazine decided to overhaul Arnall’s formula and examined internet search patterns and behavior, discovering that online searches for “depression” don’t peak in January, but rather reliably spike mid-November each year, right at the kick-off of the stressful holiday season.
